Every day I look at the same window twice.
First during the daytime
Where it adorns a gulmohar tree
Framed right in between.
A petal or two falls on the pane.
And I can’t help but feel
It wanting to be my friend.
We see each other every day now
It has been oh so long
I don’t even remember how.
I tell him all my secrets that I hold tight
But even talking for hours doesn’t suffice.
For As the night slithers in
My friend turns against me.
Haunted becomes the scene of a
Monet's painting I admired.
Petals turn into gazes. I can’t see
I try to stare back at them.
in an attempt to scare them off,
but end up flinching from their beady little eyes
that I can’t even look upon.
I wait for the daytime again,
so I can tell him what he did
But he never listens and probably never will.
I look at the same window twice.
Once in the morning
Once at night.

I love writing as I get to create something beautiful and touch others with my words in the process. I love the fact that I can create a whole new world, something no one else has ever seen. Writing helps me to escape reality and create new realities. At times, I also write stuff in those stories that I can never muster the courage to say in real life. It's my safe space. I can write whatever I am feeling and I can let it all out. It's also very therapeutic to me..
