Echoes of Memories

A hauntingly tender reflection on memory, love, and the ache of unspoken emotions — this poem captures the raw, almost sacred sorrow that lingers in a name, a gaze, and a forgotten dream.

Softness in the eye,

A wrinkled face.

Wetness in the mouth,

Gathered from unshed rain.

Lip curved slightly into a smile—

Like cherishing memories and love.

When he took her name

And remembered her face.

The nerve that sparks an image in the eye,

Calls forth the tongue, desperate to testify—

An unconditional apology,

Not just ruining the emotions,

But also spreading a seeming gleam.

It’s just the gaze

That begins with an unfulfilled dream.

The whisper stings at the edge of the eye,

Chasing the neck to make him sigh.

Now the soul is near to cry,

Still patient for it to glorify.

Mouth’s own gentle flood,

Sorrow flows smoothly in the blood.

Unheard echo of surroundings,

Obstinate ear silences the environment.

Blurred and blinded vision,

Like washed eyes and severe cataracts.

Seems glorified with her presence,

Like time traveled in the past verse.

I love writing as I get to create something beautiful and touch others with my words in the process. I love the fact that I can create a whole new world, something no one else has ever seen. Writing helps me to escape reality and create new realities. At times, I also write stuff in those stories that I can never muster the courage to say in real life. It's my safe space. I can write whatever I am feeling and I can let it all out. It's also very therapeutic to me..

I wish I were a child again!

I’m currently a Grade XII student with a deep interest in history, literature, and marine science. While I enjoy exploring subjects beyond the traditional PCM stream, I’m also planning to pursue technical courses after school to strengthen my skills and curiosity in technology. Passionate about continuous growth, I believe in learning something new every day and becoming a better version of myself.
