The Birth of a Poem

Beautifully crafted poem, "The Birth of a Poem," that makes you travel through the past and present of your memories, and thus it is born.
the birth of a poem, so interesting to read it.

What spurs the birth of a poem? What nascence it enjoys?A borrowed spark or hired fire,Or your own white noise? Do old memories castA shadow on today? And is the present bornOf past that's thrown away? Or was the umbilical cordOf present and the pastNot properly severedSo the ephemeral would last? When inherently chequeredLike sunshine through the leavesIt often makes me wonderWhat poetry achieves? They tell me it is crypticBut poetry, is lifeLove at first sight, for someFor some, eternal strife!...

What spurs the birth of a poem?
What nascence it enjoys?
A borrowed spark or hired fire,
Or your own white noise?

Do old memories cast
A shadow on today?
And is the present born
Of past that's thrown away?

Or was the umbilical cord
Of present and the past
Not properly severed
So the ephemeral would last?

When inherently chequered
Like sunshine through the leaves
It often makes me wonder
What poetry achieves?

They tell me it is cryptic
But poetry, is life
Love at first sight, for some
For some, eternal strife!

I love writing as I get to create something beautiful and touch others with my words in the process. I love the fact that I can create a whole new world, something no one else has ever seen. Writing helps me to escape reality and create new realities. At times, I also write stuff in those stories that I can never muster the courage to say in real life. It's my safe space. I can write whatever I am feeling and I can let it all out. It's also very therapeutic to me..
